Hi guys
Today I'm going to quickly share with you one of the key fundamentals to fat loss that so many people fail to recognise and practice and that is how to eat fat to lose fat.
In today's image conscious society and a population of people plagued with health problems and weight issues we are constantly advised and bombarded with messages from the media and from food companies trying market us their products that we should avoid fat at all cost, that we should eliminate it where ever possible from out diets and eat low fat foods.
While there is some truth in the fact that many of us do consume to many of the wrong or bad fats it is certainly not naturally or good advice to eat a low fat diet and especially poor advice to eliminate fat entirely as this does in fat course more healthy problems and weight issues!
We should eat foods that are naturally low in fat yes and higher in fibre however our bodies need fat, it is essential to the proper functioning of our internal systems. The right kind of fats that is. EFA's or Essential Fatty acids are such an essential requirment for optimal health, proper immune function and the development of every cell and organ in our body that by consuming a diet that is low in fat and void of the EFA's do course many of the major health and weight issues that we so commonly see today.
increased and improved energy, immunity, growth, development, hormone production and balance, repair and performance are just some of the many benefits of EFA's in ones diet. And if those things aren't enough to motivate or inspire you to include the right Fats in your diet then how about the fact that diets low or void of Fat altogether usually lead to overeating, blood sugar imbalances, and sugar addictions which of course all lead to weight gain!
Yes by reducing fat from your diet you will initially save on a few calories but an ultra low caloire diet is NOT the way to lose weight and fat long term. Plus although you may save on those calories from the fat content you will more than likely overeat as fat is satisfying to eat, tells your brain you are full and reduces appetite. Those who avoid fat altogether often become sugar addicted and eat sweet high glycemic foods which let me tell you are the most fattening foods around. Sugar turns to fat in the body when not burnt immediately. Sugar is a much greater contributor to weight and fat gain than fat itself.
Our ancestors and grandparents never worried about fat in their diets and hardly anyone was overweight, fat or obese at the turn of the 20th century, but they didn't consume as much sugar either, and they were much more physically active as well.
The science and benefits of proper healthy fat intake is much more than we have time to go into in this short article but just know this, if you want to burn fat then you should consume it, the right kinds of course.
